Kay So unlike your previous efforts. Different lens I assume. Has a very cinematic feel to it. The new wave of French cinema in early 60s had similar imagery. Ingmar Bergman portrayed his women in similar fashion. Hitchcock was a master of generating fear and this could have been your tribute to him lol. Now with the very assumption she was aware of the fact that she was being photographed, interesting reactions can be observed. Fear, intimidation, insecurity, muscles all flexed and the grip on the pole firmer thn ever. And if you analyse it further, one can even sense hidden anger combined with some sort of defiance. I even see efforts to maintain dignity, composure despite the apparent invasion of privacy but the eyes convey it all. Perfectly sums up our times. Times of uncertainty, fear of strangers, surveillance, big brother watching, camera click, tricky friendly smile (your trademark tact to comfort your potential preys), harassment, role of media, in short globalization has essentially taken its toll on us. The golden age of warm smiles, generous greetings, blind faiths have been replaced by coldness reserved stance unfriendly approach and indifferent attitudes.
You definitely need to be more regular here or you shall lose my sincerity:P

all i can do is appreciate your comments...i feel revealing how this photograph came about would ruin your interpretation of it.
